Filip Eraković is one of the most demanded and interesting accordionists his generation.His versatility shows itself in diverse repertoire, ranging from baroque and classical transcriptions to the new commissions and interpretation of contemporary works. In the concert season of 2019 an important role will play a collaboration with Ensemble Modern Frankfurt and a CD production of the triptych "Riss" by Mark Andre. Close cooperation with the composer Gerhard Stäbler and Kunsu Shim. Also interesting is the performance at the Ruhr Triennale with Barbara Ehnes, Eleftherios Veniadis and the Ensemble Handwerk. Filip's solo program "From France with love" focuses on French composers, will be presented in several European countries and will be recorded for Filip's debut CD.
Formerly Filip won the Werner Richard-Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation Scholarship in 2010 and appeared in concert series for highly gifted artists from North-Rhine Westphalia- “Best of NRW” in 2011 and 2012. In the year 2012, he made his radio debut with the radio station WDR3, with a complete concert recording from the Apollo Theater Siegen. This led to solo performances with the Folkwang Kammerorchester, Orchestra camerata di Rimini and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. During the same year, Filip won a second prize at the Accordion Grand Prix in Luxembourg and two years later a second prize at “Val Tidone” competition in Italy.
Klangspuren Schwaz, Stelzenfestspiele bei Reuth, Beethoven Fest Bonn, Acht Brücken Köln, Zeitgenössische Musik Festival Bozen, The Young-Nam International Contemporary Festival Daegu, Impuls Graz, Muziekbiennale Niederrhein, NOW Essen are only some of the festivals where Filip was invited to play. He regularly performs abroad, having given concerts in Serbia, Bulgaria, Czesh Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Poland,France, Benelux Countries, Spain and South Korea. Furthermore, he has appeared with the IEMA Ensemble, Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, Ensemble Electronic ID, Ensemble Windkraft, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Auditiv Vokal Dresden and performed in auditoriums such as the Apollo Theater Siegen, Essen Philharmonie, Beethoven Haus Bonn, Oper Köln, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Belgrad Philharmony, WDR Funkhaus Köln. He has played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Eugene Tzigane, Brad Lubman, Ingo Metzmacher, Clement Power, Jonathan Stockhammer, Bas Wigers, Casper de Roo and Achim Fidler.
Aside from Classical repertoire, Filip Eraković likes to involve himself in the development of contemporary music, as well as works originally written for accordion. He is a member of Ensemble S201, a young ensemble specialising in music of the present, using original concert settings and mulitimedial concepts. He works together with composers such as Rebecca Saunders, Mark Andre, Gerhard Stäbler, Gordon Kampe, Günter Steinke, Johannes Schöllhorn, Beat Furrer, Wei-Chieh Lin, Elena Rykova, Antonia Barnett-McIntosh, Hannes Kerschbaumer, Farzia Fallah and others resulting in countless premiers of Solo-and Ensemble works.
Filip Eraković grew up in a musical family and began to play the accordion aged 9, with his first concerts and competition engagements aged just 11. He attended a music high school in Serbia, where he was taught by prof. Milan Eraković and Gvozden Eraković, during which he performed numerous times on the national and international stage, also winning over 30 prizes at renowned competitions. In 2007 he began to study at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with prof. Mie Miki, where he graduated diplom and masters degree with distinction. During his time at Folkwang he was a scholarship holder of the Alfred und Cläre Pott foundation, Oscar und Vera Ritter foundation, Lions Club Essen and the Yehudi Menuhin-Live Music Now.
